Assumptions and limitations for exporting a model
The following section describes the Thermal Model Exchanger assumptions and limitations when you export a Thermal Desktop model to a Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal XML file.
Exporting domain tag sets
You can use Thermal Model Exchanger to export Domain Tag Sets from Thermal Desktop into Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal as Groups.

Exporting domain tag sets

You can use Thermal Model Exchanger to export Domain Tag Sets from Thermal Desktop into Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal as Groups.

In Thermal Desktop, you can use Domain Tag Sets to tag groups of geometry for easy management of the model. When a boundary condition includes a Domain Tag Set, it allows you to modify the geometry by adding or removing items to the tag set, ensuring the boundary condition definition remains consistent. Thermal Model Exchanger (TMX) allows you to only export Domain Tag Set of the Face Set type, which includes specific object faces. It does not support exporting other domain tag set types.

When a Domain Tag Set of the Face Set type is included in a boundary condition in Thermal Desktop, TMX exports it as a Group Reference in the corresponding boundary condition dialog box in Simcenter 3D.

TMX exports Domain Tag Sets of the Face Set type that includes 2D elements and creates corresponding Groups in Simcenter 3D. If a Domain Tag Set of the Face Set type includes faces of 3D elements, TMX exports the face selections used in the boundary condition to Simcenter 3D but does not create a corresponding Group.
