Introduction
Thermal Model Exchanger is a Windows application that allows you to transfer thermal models between Ansys Thermal Desktop^TM and Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal. The application supports the transfer of meshes, material and optical properties, and boundary conditions of your model.

Introduction

Thermal Model Exchanger is a Windows application that allows you to transfer thermal models between Ansys Thermal Desktop^TM and Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal. The application supports the transfer of meshes, material and optical properties, and boundary conditions of your model.

Prerequisites and operating system

Thermal Model Exchanger (TMX) requires the installation of AutoCAD with Thermal Desktop.

The TMX application uses the OpenTD Application Programming Interface (API) to exchange data between Simcenter 3D and Thermal Desktop. Since OpenTD only supports C#, TMX can only run on Windows.

Supported versions

The following table lists the versions of Thermal Desktop and Simcenter 3D that are supported by TMX.

Only the Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal (SST) solution types are currently supported.

Attention:

TMX might work with older versions of Thermal Desktop and Simcenter 3D, but issues found with these versions will only be fixed if they are reproducible with supported versions.

Nomenclature

Since TMX runs with Thermal Desktop, this technical documentation uses the following wording for transferring a model between the two applications:

Importing a model: Indicates that you import a model from Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal to Thermal Desktop.
Exporting a model: Indicates that you export a model from Thermal Desktop to Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal.
