Importing a model from Simcenter 3D to Thermal Desktop
Thermal Model Exchanger 2.0 introduces several significant improvements and new features for importing models from Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal into Thermal Desktop. It now supports a greater variety of mesh types, thermo-optical properties, and boundary condition types from Simcenter 3D.

Thermal Model Exchanger 2.0 now supports importing most types of Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal meshes and their physical properties into Ansys Thermal Desktop^TM.

- Importing a model from Simcenter 3D to Thermal Desktop
  Thermal Model Exchanger 2.0 introduces several significant improvements and new features for importing models from Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal into Thermal Desktop. It now supports a greater variety of mesh types, thermo-optical properties, and boundary condition types from Simcenter 3D.
  - Importing meshes and their physical properties
    Thermal Model Exchanger 2.0 now supports importing most types of Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal meshes and their physical properties into Ansys Thermal Desktop^TM.
  - Importing thermal loads
    You can now use Thermal Model Exchanger 2.0 to import thermostat and proportional active heater controller modeling objects from Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal into Thermal Desktop.
  - Importing radiation and orbital heating
    Thermal Model Exchanger 2.0 now supports importing additional types of radiation and orbital heating simulation objects applied on various element types from Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal.
  - Importing temperature constraints and thermal coupling
    Thermal Model Exchanger 2.0 now supports importing temperature constraints and thermal couplings applied on various element types from Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal.
- Exporting a model from Thermal Desktop to Simcenter 3D
  Thermal Model Exchanger 2.0 introduces several significant improvements and new features for exporting models from Thermal Desktop into Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal. It now supports exporting domain tag sets, symbols, aliases, and more primitive, and boundary condition types from Thermal Desktop.

Importing meshes and their physical properties

Thermal Model Exchanger 2.0 now supports importing most types of Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal meshes and their physical properties into Ansys Thermal Desktop^TM.

Using Thermal Model Exchanger (TMX), you can now import:

0D elements, which are converted to nodes with capacitance or solid sphere primitives in Thermal Desktop.
1D beam meshes, which are converted to solid cylinder primitives in Thermal Desktop.
All supported types of 2D and 3D elements.

Additionally, TMX now supports importing the following physical properties:

Material, thickness, and coupling options of Thin Shell properties.
Coupling options of Null Shell properties.
Non-uniform Multi-layer Shell properties, importing layers as a stack, with thermo-physical and optical properties.

Coupling options are imported as insulation properties in Thermal Desktop.

In the previous release, TMX only supported importing 2D meshes, with limited support for Thin Shell and Null Shell properties.
