The following section describes the Thermal Model Exchanger assumptions and limitations when you import a Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal model into Thermal Desktop.

Thermal Model Exchanger supports importing thermal and physical properties from Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal into Thermal Desktop.

Importing thermo-physical properties

Thermal Model Exchanger supports importing thermal and physical properties from Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal into Thermal Desktop.

Thermal Desktop does not have a concept equivalent to the mesh collector in Simcenter 3D. The thermal and physical properties, which you specify on a mesh collector, are directly assigned to elements or nodes in Thermal Desktop.

You can use Thermal Model Exchanger to import:

Material properties, such as mass density, specific heat, and thermal conductivity, including both isotropic and orthotropic materials.
Physical properties related to thin, null and non-uniform multilayer shells.
Advanced thermo-optical properties, including solar absorptivity and infrared emissivity, and map them to corresponding Thermal Desktop entities.
