Assumptions and limitations for importing a model
The following section describes the Thermal Model Exchanger assumptions and limitations when you import a Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal model into Thermal Desktop.
Importing thermal couplings
You can use Thermal Model Exchanger to import Thermal Coupling simulation objects from Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal into Thermal Desktop as Contactors.

Importing thermal couplings

You can use Thermal Model Exchanger to import Thermal Coupling simulation objects from Simcenter 3D Space Systems Thermal into Thermal Desktop as Contactors.

Thermal Model Exchanger (TMX) only supports importing the Thermal Coupling type of Thermal Coupling simulation object. The Perfect Contact and Additional Conductance types are not supported.

TMX does not support the Simcenter 3D Thermal Coupling simulation objects with:

The Override Secondary Region option specified.
The Overlap Projection Direction set to Secondary Element Normals.

When you import a Simcenter 3D model with thermal coupling that uses one of the previously listed options, TMX does not import the thermal coupling and displays a warning message in the import summary indicating that the option is not supported.
