Results page

The Results page displays the results of the optimization procedure for the thermal correlation analysis when you select the Results node in the main panel.

Optimized Temperatures
Load Optimized Solution Results Loads the temperature and the design variable results of the optimized solution.
Comparison Time Available for transient solution only.

Specifies the time at which you want to compare the reference and optimized temperature data and compute the absolute error.

Optimized Temperatures table Lists the following information related to the targets considered during the optimization.

  • Target—Displays the name of the target.
  • Element or Node—Displays the element or node ID from the simulation model that is paired with the target.
  • Reference Temperature—Displays the reference temperature value of the target.
  • Optimized Temperature—Displays the optimized temperature of the target.
  • Absolute Error—Displays the temperature difference computed between the optimized and reference temperature for the target.
  • Warning—Issues a message if the optimized temperature is interpolated or extrapolated by the solver for the selected comparison time.

You can click any column heading to sort the list in ascending or descending alphabetical order or numerical order.

When you right-click one or more sensors, the following commands appear:

  • Plot—Lets you select how to display the evolution of the temperature through time after optimization for the selected targets. You can visualize the:
    • Reference—that plots the reference temperature for the selected targets versus time.
    • Optimized Solution—that plots the optimized temperature for the selected targets versus time.
    • Overlay—that plots the reference and optimized temperature for the selected targets versus time.
    • Overlay with Original Solution—that plots the reference, original, and optimized temperatures for the selected targets versus time.
    • Absolute Error—that plots the value of the absolute error for the selected targets versus time.
    • Overlay with Absolute Error—that plots the optimized temperature and the absolute error for the selected targets versus.
  • Information—Opens the Information window that lists general information about the targets in a text format, which you can export to a text file if necessary.
Convergence
Final Objective Function Displays the value of the normalized error between the computed and the target temperatures after an optimization.
Converged Below Criterion Displays whether the final value of the objective function has reached convergence criterion or not.
Number of Design Cycles Displays the number of completed optimization design cycles.
Reached Maximum Number of Design Cycles Displays whether the maximum number of optimization design cycles is reached or not.
Optimized Design Variables
Optimized Design Variables table Lists the following information related to optimization design variables by TMG Correlation:
  • Design Variable Name—Displays the name of the optimized design variable.
  • Initial Value—Displays the initial value of the design variable before optimization.
  • Final Value—Displays the value for the design variable obtained after the thermal correlation analysis.
  • Units—Displays the units of the optimized design variables.

You can click any column heading to sort the list in ascending or descending alphabetical order or numerical order.
