9. Define the optimization design variables.

You will specify the minimum, and maximum values of the four design variables you previously created to limit their variation during the optimization process.

  1. In the TMG Correlation dialog box, select the Optimization > Optimization Design Variables node.
  2. In the Optimization Design Variables group, select DV1_Heat_Load.
  3. Expand the Attributes subgroup, select the Minimum Value check box.
  4. In the Minimum Value box, type 200 to specify the minimum bounds for the DV1_Heat_Load design variable.
  5. Select the Maximum Value check box.
  6. In the Maximum Value box, type 800 to specify the maximum bounds for the DV1_Heat_Load design variable.
  7. Click Apply to Selected Design Variables.
The Optimization Design Variables table is updated with the minimum and the maximum value of the DV1_Heat_Load design variable.
  8. In the Optimization Design Variables table, select DV4_panel_bus_conductance, then press and hold Ctrl and select DV2_antena_bus_TCTC_Total_Conductance, and DV3_walls_mass_TCTC_Heat_Transfer_Coefficient.
  9. In the Minimum Value box, type 0.1.
  10. In the Maximum Value box, type 100.
  11. Click Apply to Selected Design Variables to apply the minimum and maximum value to all selected design variables.
The Optimization Design Variables table displays the minimum and the maximum value of the three design variables.
