Solve processes
The following table lists all processes that solve different thermal-flow input files, their corresponding command prompt switch, and their description. These processes are listed in MAYA HTT TMG Executive when you select Solve from the Process Filter list.
Switch | Process name | Description |
---|---|---|
TA* | Autodetect restart, purge files if required and run a thermal analysis from INPF | Detects if the run is a normal run or a restart run, deletes the thermal solver run-time files, then runs a thermal analysis using the local thermal input file INPF launching the Solution Monitor. TMG Executive Menu deletes different run-time files if it is a normal run or a restart run. |
TI* | Purge all files and run a thermal analysis from INPF | Deletes all thermal solver run-time files then runs a thermal analysis using the local thermal input file INPF without launching the Solution Monitor. |
TX* | Purge all files and run a thermal analysis from INPF with solution monitor | Deletes all thermal solver run-time files then runs a thermal analysis using the local thermal input file INPF. During the solve, the Solution Monitor appears. |
TN | Purge all files, run thermal analysis from INPF, but keep scratch files | Deletes all thermal solver run-time files, then runs a thermal analysis using the local thermal input file INPF without launching the Solution Monitor. This process keeps all run-time files after the run. |
TB | Run thermal analysis from INPF in background | Runs a thermal analysis as a background process using the local thermal input file INPF without initially deleting run-time files. |
TR | Keep restart files only and run thermal analysis from INPF | Deletes the thermal solver run-time files that are not needed for a restart run, then runs a thermal analysis using the local thermal input file INPF without launching the Solution Monitor. |
TC | Keep all files and run thermal analysis from INPF | Runs a thermal analysis using the local input file INPF and all run-time files without launching the Solution Monitor. |
DB | Compile USER1.f and run | Compiles the USER1 subroutine and runs a thermal analysis in debug mode. For more information, see USER1 subroutine. |
NX* | Run analysis from XML, in solution’s run directory | Runs a thermal analysis, a flow analysis, or a coupled thermal-flow analysis from the XML solver input file launching the Solution Monitor. The solver generates all solver run-time files in the solution's run directory. |
NF* | Run analysis from XML, in file’s directory | Runs a thermal analysis, a flow analysis, or a coupled thermal-flow analysis from the XML solver input file launching the Solution Monitor. The solver generates all solver run-time files in the directory where the XML file is stored. |
MP | Run Multiphysics analysis from .mpdat with solution monitor | Not available for the Simcenter Femap version of the TMG Executive Menu application. Runs the Simcenter 3D Multiphysics analysis from an existing multiphysics input file (.mpdat). You generate the multiphysics input file in this software for a coupled multiphysics run. The TMG Executive Menu also requires the thermal input file (.xml) and the structural input file (.dat) generated from this software. The locations of the .xml and .dat files are included in the .mpdat file. During the solve, the Solution Monitor appears. |
MN | Run Multiphysics analysis from .mpdat | Not available for the Simcenter Femap version of the TMG Executive Menu application. Runs the Simcenter 3D Multiphysics analysis from an existing multiphysics input file (.mpdat) without launching the Solution Monitor. You generate the multiphysics input file in this software for a coupled multiphysics run. The TMG Executive Menu also requires the thermal input file (.xml) and the structural input file (.dat) generated from this software. The locations of the .xml and .dat files are included in the .mpdat file. |
EC* | Run ESC analysis from escmdl.dat with solution monitor | Deletes all solver files and runs a new flow analysis or coupled thermal-flow analysis from the escmdl.dat file in the run directory. During the solve, the Solution Monitor appears. The escmdl.dat file is the solver input file for legacy NX I-deas ESC and Simcenter Femap TMG (11.4.1 or earlier) applications. |
ET* | Run ESC analysis from escmdl.dat | Deletes all solver files and runs a new flow analysis or coupled thermal-flow analysis from the escmdl.dat file in the run directory with text output only. The escmdl.dat file is the solver input file for legacy NX I-deas ESC and Simcenter Femap TMG (11.4.1 or earlier) applications. |
All processes are available with advanced licenses. The processes that are also available with basic licenses are marked with a star (*) next to the command prompt switch. They are listed in the Basic process filter in the MAYA HTT TMG Executive dialog box. If you have only basic licenses, you can perform only processes that are listed under the Basic process filter.
