Radiation enclosures
The thermal solver separates elements into enclosures. An enclosure is defined to be a set of elements that view each other and only each other.
The advantages of enclosures are:
- Efficiency—The size of the radiation matrix to be inverted is reduced for Gebhardt method.
- Model debugging—The elements belonging to each enclosure are written to the report log file. This can be used to verify that improper couplings between enclosures are not present.
A radiative environment may be included as part of the enclosure
