Element's center of gravity method
The element's center of gravity (CG) method creates conductances between the CG of the element and its boundary elements.
The following table lists the location where the element CG method creates boundary elements for each supported element type.
Element type | Boundary element |
---|---|
Beam | Zero radius lump mass elements created at the beam element's ends |
Shell | Zero radius beam elements created along the shell element's edges |
Solid | Zero thickness shell elements created on the solid element’s surfaces |
The example shows boundary elements on a triangle element.
Boundary elements are not created on the elements, which have:
- Zero thermal conductivity.
- An occupied surface or edge by another element.
