Activate the product license on Windows

This procedure shows how to activate the Maya HTT license on a Windows desktop.

  1. Start the License Editor. From the Start menu, launch Maya Licensing > Edit Licenses.
  2. In the License Editor, select Edit > Add License.
  3. On the Add License page, click Read File and select the license file that you previously saved from your email.
  4. Click Open.

The file content is displayed in the Insert License Text dialog box. Alternatively, you can copy and paste the license passwords, with the text markers, directly in the text box. You can add several separate licenses, each with their marker lines, in a single line. If there is some extra text like e-mail headers before or after the license section, the extra text will be ignored.

  5. Click OK to exit the text window.
  6. In the License Editor, verify that the new license has been added by checking the feature, version, number, and expiration. The name is used for display only.
  7. Click File > Save.
  8. Exit the License Editor program.
  9. To restart the license server, from the Start menu, launch Services by typing it in the search box.
  10. Locate and select the Maya License Service.
  11. On the task bar, click Restart Service to restart it.

  12. Verify the license status. From the Start menu, launch Maya Licensing > License Status.
  13. In the Server box, enter server:port, for example localhost:10999, and click Status.

If you are running the application on the server, you can use localhost as the server name. For other cases, use the computer name where the license server is installed. The default port is 10999. The new feature displays in the list.

  14. Exit the License Editor program.
