Resolving the issue when all nodes of fluid elements contact the wall

This article explains how to resolve the issue when all nodes of one or several elements come into contact with the solid wall.

When using the flow solver, you might encounter the following fatal error:
MergedNodeMap::GetUniqueIndexForNode: Index not found!
One possible cause is that all nodes of one or more elements are in contact with the solid wall. This confuses the solver as it cannot determine if the element is fluid or solid. To resolve this issue, re-mesh the fluid domain with the Minimum Two Elements Through Thickness option selected. This prevents elements from having all nodes touching the wall.

Note:
This solution does not apply if you generate the 3D air mesh using solid from shell.
