Flow solver flowcharts
This section consists of flowcharts that illustrate the methodology of the flow solver when you run a simple steady-state or transient simulation, and does not cover all features and situations. It also highlights how the flow solver is coupled to the thermal solver for a simple steady-state or transient coupled thermal-flow simulation.
A wide range of situations and features have been omitted for simplicity. They include but are not limited to active and passive scalars, disjoint mesh paring, and immersed boundary methods.
In the flowcharts:
- ϕ(t) is the value of the unknown variables—pressure, velocity, and enthalpy—at time t.
- ϕn is the value of the unknown variables at the non-linear iteration n.
- nmax is the maximum number of convergence iterations.
- tmax is the final simulation time for a transient simulation.
